A Journey to Enjoy Spruce Peak Lodge Skiing

A trip to Stowe, Vermont, and a stay in the Lodge at Spruce Peak puts you in the perfect place to make the most of skiing fun! This area gets impressive snowfall each year and the ski resorts are ideal for exploring the slopes whether you’re new to skiing or it’s an activity you add to your agenda each and every year. The following five-day lineup is a great place to start when you want to maximize your Spruce Peak ski-focused getaway at every turn the next time you’re in town.

Day 1

Today is all about making sure you have what you need in place to spend as much time on the slopes skiing and snowboarding as possible. In 2024, lift tickets at Stowe Mountain Resort will be limited to make the ski experience safe and more enjoyable for everyone. The best way to ensure your spot is to invest in an EPIC Pass or an Epic Day Pass. If you haven’t purchased either of these options, day one will be dedicated to purchasing your tickets early for the next day so you can enjoy the peace of mind you deserve before heading out to savor the snowy moments ahead.

Day 2

Once you have your lift ticket in hand for the slopes at Stowe Mountain Resort, you’ll be ready to make the most of a thrilling experience. This location hosts Mount Mansfield with a summit elevation of 4,395 feet which is the highest peak in all of Vermont. Lift-top elevations linger at 3,719 feet while the longest vertical drop to explore on-site is 2,160 feet. You can expect an average annual snowfall here of around 333 inches which is ideal when your plans include exploring all 116 trails. There are 485 skiable acres to discover during a winter ski getaway in this direction and 13 lifts to take you where you need to go with spectacular views included.

When you book your place at The Lodge at Spruce Peak, you’ll enjoy a stay with the only slopeside ski-in ski-out options at the base of Stowe Mountain Resort! It’s integrated into the Vail Epic Pass System and hosts runs that range from beginner to black diamond. Around 16% of trails are beginner level with 59% marked as intermediate and 25% of trails ideal for expert skiers on day two.

Day 3

The third day of your skiing journey to the Spruce Peak Lodge is dedicated to cross country skiing adventures. The Mountain Course is slated to be groomed in 2024 for those who are looking to enjoy cross country skiing, and even snow biking alike. Plans are in place for the trails to be groomed so they are equal parts challenging and beautiful. As you navigate the terrain, you’ll be treated to amazing views just about everywhere you roam.

Lessons and tours can be booked for this day as well through Spruce Peak Outfitters. These are offered from November 17 through April 1 and include an introduction to cross country Spruce Peak ski experience that lasts an hour and a half at $60 per person. There’s a guided cross country ski tour available for $45 per person that lasts 50 minutes and a twilight cross country ski adventure for $45 per person and 50 minutes of exploration as well.

Day 4

By the fourth day of your stay, you’ve earned the option to settle in, relax, and focus on the après ski scene here. The good news is, no matter what you’re craving, you’re likely to find it within easy reach of the slopes. Check out destinations like the Alpine Hall for farm-to-table dishes while the Tipsy Trout serves up sensational seafood and cocktails. At Miso Toh Kome, you’ll find savory grab-and-go Japanese fare including coffee, tea, onigiri, and miso soup. Swing by the Upper Lobby Bar when you’re looking to warm up with a hot cocoa, or craft brew by the fireplace in good company. The Spruce Peak To-Go is a one-stop destination for easy ordering on-site or delivered directly to your vacation rental.

Day 5

On the final day of your skiing journey stay, it’s all about adding a Snowshoe outing to your adventure. There are snowshoe tours offered at Spruce Peak that are sure to inspire as you trek through scenic terrain alongside a knowledgeable guide. Guided tours are offered daily through Crescent Moon Snowshoes. 50-minute tours are $30 per person and can be hosted on the Spruce Loop or as a twilight tour experience that’s beginner friendly. Premier guided snowshoe tours last 2.5 hours and start at $60 per person.
