Off the beaten track

Lake Willoughby

Hour and half from the Lodge beautiful glacier lake with two small beaches worth the drive!

Bread and Puppet Glover Vermont

The Bread and Puppet Theater was founded in 1963 by Peter Schumann on New York City’s Lower East Side. Besides rod-puppet and hand puppet shows for children, the concerns of the first productions were rents, rats, police, and other problems of the neighborhood. You will never see anything else like it, world famous and worth the trip!

Museum of everyday life

Our personal favorite! This is an ongoing revolutionary museum experiment based in Glover, Vermont. Its mission is a heroic, slow-motion cataloguing of the quotidian–a detailed, theatrical expression of gratitude and love for the miniscule and unglamorous experience of daily life in all its forms. We celebrate mundanity, and the mysterious delight embedded in the banal but beloved objects we touch everyday.

Burlington Water Front

Waterfront Park is a large regional park located to the west of downtown along the Lake Champlain Shoreline. This park is home to several large music and food festivals, with the Burlington Bike Path running along its eastern border. The park is immediately adjacent to the Community Boathouse, the ECHO Museum, and Lake Champlain Sailing Center.
