Stowe Bike Path

One of the best bikes paths in the country! The Stowe Recreation Path is an internationally recognized greenway stretching from Stowe Village to Top Notch Resort on the Mountain Road. Residents and guests alike enjoy the 5.3 mile paved trail as it criss-crosses the West Branch of Little River. Breath-taking mountain views and access to restaurants, lodges and local businesses make the bike path one of the most popular recreation assets. Where to rent bikes? Swimming Hole

This place is often the antidote for kids and bad weather, no matter the time of year. The barn-like structure, located just off of the Mountain Road, houses an impressive twenty-five meter lap pool, with a designated area for open swimming and elevated diving board. Plus, a separate children’s play area with a large water slide, shallow pools, and a water toy area is perfect for infants and bigger kids. And, besides the water features, there’s also a large, state-of-the-art gym and fitness classes.

Lakes and Streams

Fosters: Nice hike and rock jumping. From Stowe village, take the Mountain Road 5.2 miles to Notch Brook Road (directly across from the Matterhorn). Turn right and continue for a quarter of a mile. The path to the swimming hole begins at the end of the guardrail on the left.

Bingham Falls: To get there: Follow Route 108 (Mountain Road) toward Mt. Mansfield from Stowe and look for a turnout on both the left- and right-hand sides of the road. The trailhead is nearby on the right-hand side of the road.

Waterbury Reservoir: Canoe, Kayak & Standup paddle boards for rent. Beautiful undeveloped shorelines to paddle and large sandy beaches to enjoy. Take 100 S. through Waterbury Center and make a right at the reservoir rd.

Mountain biking Trapps / Cady Hill

Named a “mountain biking mecca” by The Boston Globe, Stowe’s extensive trail network of well-maintained, interconnected trails offers fun and challenging terrain, suitable for all ability levels. More than 50 miles of well-maintained single track around Stowe guarantee a green Vermont view in the woods, on the roads or paved paths.
